“Shark” mightily glides along, curiously lifting its nose to the corner of its wooden ocean home. Standing five feet wide, Jensen’s sculpture captures the grandeur and power of the ocean and some of its most notorious inhabitants. With its richly craved bands and carefully cropped design, “Shark” highlights the essential elements of Jensen’s work. |

Evening - By Casey Horn
The night's darkness seems to slowly creep up on the edges of "Evening" in this provocative work. As the silver, slivered moon begins its assent, darkness surrounds the pale, shadowy blue form and "Evening" seems to slink quietly into night. This ephemeral nightly ritual is captured here in its sculptural incarnation. |

Avalanche II - By Vivienne Riggio
Downy folds careen over the smooth, white bodice of "Avalanche II," yet its sudden slide does not overwhelm, but rather draws attention to the subtle movement of pristine curves. Echoing the natural contours of the female form, Riggio plays with layers of round and flat, stark and voluptuous to create a work that is full of beauty and intrigue. |

Calm As A Tomb - By Ben Carpenter
Each spike on this heavy sculpture was turned on the lathe, then inserted into a hole drilled in the body. Each joint was then meticulously detailed to ensure a flowing line from all angles. Calm has a mathematical regularity found in many organisms. I am fascinated by this "biological geometry" and this piece signals the beginning of my exploration of this concept. Unlike the spikes on 'Dragon's Egg,' the spikes have radial symmetry. The maple burl used for the body was picked for it's dense pattern of eyes and tight grained figure. The three smooth panels between the spikes are like murals and each has an explosive grain cross-section.

Blueberry - By Eileen Shahbazian
This modern take on the classical still life provides a large-scale bite of juicy color. Playfully jumping the line between imagination and reality, Shahbazian's work alludes to other artists such as Rene Magritte, whose art questions the reality of everyday objects by placing them in extraordinary contexts. |

Traverse - By Eileen Shahbazian
Moving to and fro, over and through, crossing and re-crossing through time and space, Shahbazian's sculpture indeed captures dynamism of form. Juxtaposing a narrow, straight line with a thick, loping curl, Shahbazian leaves the viewer to imagine which is meant to "Traverse" which. |

Proliferation - By Ellen Jantzen
Warrior orbs with protruding spikes encircle a hive from which they appear to have recently sprouted. Echoing with the feeling of calm that comes only after a storm, "Proliferation" reflects on the violent aspects of growth and rebirth, which are often overlooked. Despite a strange sense of foreboding, Jantzen's spheres are dynamic and playful and new branches shoot from a pure white tree at the sculpture's top, suggesting hope and regeneration. |

Shell Bowl 5 - By Ben Carpenter
This piece is the fifth in my shell series. The wood presented a unique challenge for carving and sanding because it is full of bark. The result was worth the effort because these bark inclusions give the sculpture an ancient look as if many creatures have lived in it. Indeed, it was home to a band of rogue termites until shortly before its completion. The bark areas have been stabilized and now add to the overall appearance by contrasting with the already amazing cherry burl. I am fortunate to have been given this piece of wood and I'm sure to never see one like it again.

Mother Of Us All - By Susan Clinard
Unlike traditional earth mothers, whose bounty and beauty are evident at every turn, Clinard’s mother reflects womanly pride, despite the hardship and difficulty that comes with maternal responsibility. With its rustic wood carving and figurative faces, Clinard’s work depicts the struggle mother nature’s faces to support her growing population as well as the strength and determination displayed by everyday woman who take up the task of raising children in a less than perfect world. |

Dimensions - By Eileen Shahbazian
Shahbazian's panels explore spatial elements while simultaneously defying those boundaries, creating a world that seems to be of another place and time. Primarily consisting of four rectangular boards, each seems to break the limits of the flat plane by producing sporadic forms or slicing through the bronze to allow the viewer access to the space beyond the work. Creating a mood that is as richly textured as the work itself, Shahbazian draws the viewer into her own "Dimensions." |
