Cars and Stars – By Andy Zimmermann

At times beautiful, at times jarring, this sculpture installation features a 24 minute loop of video and sound representing the 24 hour cycle in the life of a car-commuter. Day after day, millions of people are trying to go the same places at the same time, creating a circadian rhythm of commuter traffic. The cyclical aspects of the commute during the day coupled with the return of the stars at night highlight how our days and nights become part of the great celestial dance of the cosmos.
