Annette Kay Saw on the site there are many people with sculptures by Gino Ruggeri. Must be fairly easy to carve alabaster. Do these works have any value? Have a beautiful 13" alabaster Madonna and Child. The mother's robe is green alabaster. Everything else appears to be ivory, including the child. inkydinc@aol.com

Phyllis Finn - Have a wonderful sculpture, believe it is suppose to be Michelangelo, as a young boy, sitting creating a sculpture. On the back it is engraved with G.Ruggeri. This was a gift to a nun, would like to know something of the artist and if it has a monetary value. Contact: pmmfinn@aol.com

Vickie LaPaglia - I am looking for information on a sculptor named G. Ruggeri or Gino Ruggeri. He recreates nude statues from the old masters and many other kinds of work mostly with alabaster or something similar to that. His work comes from Italy. I think Tuscany. Thank you, Vickie Contact: vlgrooms@alltel.net

Steve Scotford - Looking for information about small ivorine (ivoride) busts of classical composers. I have several (Beethoven, Mozart, Bach) and would like to collect more. They are approx. 5" tall and have the composer's name on the front and G. Ruggeri stamped on the back. Probably from the early to mid 19th century, probably mass produced and sold as singles or sets. Liz Tackitt - I am interested in information about a sculpture of Artemis/ Diana I recently purchased. It is about l foot high made of some sort of resin or bonded marble. It is imprinted "Made in Italy" on the bottom and has the name "G. Ruggeri" on the back. I can't find anything about Ruggeri on the internet. Thank you for any help you can offer! Gino Ruggeri

http://www.isac-statue.it/ apparently owns the rights to Gino Ruggeri's works.  Their site is in Italian, see http://www.isac-statue.it/ita_chi_siamo.htm for details:

Here is a rough automated translation of the relevant paragraph: "In 1987, after the cessation of the productive activity of the rinomata factory of artistic statues "Tito Bianchi" where Amilcare had obtained the first employment, the Santini family determined to acquire the rights of exclusive reproduction all the models, and acquired all the machinery and the equipments widening remarkablly the range of its production with statues of remarkable pregio artistic modeled nearly all from the famous scultore Gino Ruggeri, been born to Volterra, native land of the alabaster."
