Tartarus - By Ben Carpenter

Images of exotic swimming creatures from an alien world come to mind as I observe this piece. It is also reminiscent of flying spinning seed pods. However much it may appear to be carved from one solid piece of Camphor Burl, Tartarus was crafted from four pieces of wood joined with strong metal dowels. Note the way the grain on the fins appears blurred as if the piece were in motion.
