Strider - By Ben Carpenter
Strider was a challenging piece to conjure and even more difficult to create. Making the piece balance with a striding motion required flexibility of craft and imagination. The legs are detachable with magnetic joints. The vessel body is made of spectacular walnut burl and it's thin walls allow the appearance of size without added weight. Every angle of viewing brings out new negative spaces and stunning visual images. It is somewhat frightening to behold as the piece appears poised to silently leap.
