Marcia Berkall - Whittlins 'n Wood - "Unique hand carved items, including Santa's, Uncle Sams and other folk figures. Of particular interest to me is the concept of "giving new life to old wood". This is evidenced in my antique wooden lobster buoys with the well-known "down east fisherman" carved in them, and driftwood and "found wood" tree spirits. I love living in Maine, and that influence is evident in much of my work."  See: Santas, Buoys, Driftwood, Fisherman, Uncle Sams, Gallery.  Contact: 207-445-4280 in South China, Maine.  In the Chicago area, you may see and purchase my carvings at: Folkworks Gallery, l310 1/2 Chicago Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201.  847-328-0083.

Robin Edward Trudel "Welcome to my Pine Tree Studios! My name is Robin Edward Trudel. Pine Tree Studios is on a hill covered with Pine and Hickory trees in Massachusetts, about a half mile from the New Hampshire border. As the name suggests most of my work is in Eastern White Pine. I have always enjoyed carving pine because of the aroma of the wood. There is something about the smell of the pine pitch that feels distinctly 'New England'." Robin is researching Quebecois Sculptors, take a look at his work on Louis Jobin. If you have any information on Mssrs. Francois Bailliarge, Louis Jobin, or Medard Bourgault,

Bruce Walker From the early 70's to the present, Bruce has been creating full dimensional characters in wood that literally leap out of the wall-mounts. His works are predominantly in oak that has been selectively culled and does not support the destruction of forests. His artistic career was temporarily halted as his right arm and hand were paralyzed in an accident. Not to be stopped, he simply trained his left side to continue. In viewing this portfolio, which spans from the most recent to his earlier work, Bruce's progression in his craft is evident, with the promise of increased complexity in his future works.

Allen F. Weidhaas, Sculptor - Sporting and wildlife limited edition bronzes and one-of-a-kind woodcarvings. - About the Artist -  Allen Weidhaas creates wood carvings and limited edition bronze sculpture of the natural world. His sculptures are highly detailed miniature studies of wildlife in their natural environment. Not the slightest detail is overlooked. He captures the essence of a single moment in the daily life of his subject. Some are hilarious, others very serious. The thrill of a large mammal charging can be an overwhelming sight. The speed and agility instill total disbelief. On the other hand, a small house wren squawking at an intruder leaves one with a warm humorous sensation.  See: Bronze Sculpture, Woodcarvings, What's New. Contact: 540-694-6282

The Woodsman, William David Cully (Willy) "At age 40 I had crashed into the wall and had to make a choice about my life. I chose the long, slow and, at times extremely painful path back to sobriety and sanity. During my first few weeks, I started work on a small sculpture which I managed to finish three years later. All of my pieces are external expressions of internal problems which I have had to deal with in the course of my recovery."
