• Like many of the characters he portrays in his sculpture, Don Polland is a pioneer. In 1959 he broke with tradition by executing his western sculptures in miniature scale (most of his designs are under 8" high), which made his work much more affordable in bronze, and certainly easier to display in the average home. In 1973, when Polland joined forces with Chilmark, a new era in art of the American West began, as his work was now produced in fine pewter, as well as bronze. He had truly made his mark, and today has one of the largest collector followings in the art world.
• Mike Boyett - "The definition of the artist as a story teller only begins to describe the work of Michael Boyett. While his Legacy of Courage series of individual sculptures still ranks as one of the most popular Chilmark collections ever, his major works define him as a sculpture. Boyett's major scenes, beginning with the now sold out Flat Out for Red River Station, continuing with Attack on the Iron Horse, and finally his epic The Unconquered - Breakthrough at Abinaki Pass, are among the most ambitious works ever sculptured in the miniature scale. Over two years of development in each, beginning with on-site research, to sculpting and finally tooling and production."
• Tim Sullivan - Although a new comer to Chilmark, Tim Sullivan of Missoula, Montana has gained immediate popularity among our ever growing family of MetalART™ collectors. After arning his degree and spending two years in the South Pacific as a Peace Corps volunteer, Tim married and returned to Montana. Working exclusively in sculpture since 1979, Tim's works have been featured in many national and regional publications such as Art West and the Wall Street Journal.
