Sculptors and Sculpture by Country
- Dear Sculptors and Sculpture-Related
Organizations: Keeping up Sculptor.Org is a huge task for one
person. If you want to increase the visibility of sculptors and
sculpture-related organizations from your country/region/area in a world market,
you will work together to have a complete profile of sculpture and sculptors
online for all to see. It will be a resource for sculptors in each area to work
together, a source of pride for each country and region, and a permanent
resource for students, 3D artists of all sorts, collectors, writers, teachers,
historians, conservators, families and communities supporting sculptors,
galleries, museums, sculpture parks, archaeologists, architects, commercial
firms and many others. The world has a rich culture in 3D works of
art. Let us work together to show it as a single and complete tapestry.
- I have done a very small part to provide a place (Sculptor.Org) for the world
to find sculptors. When people look on the web for sculptors, they very often
find Sculptor.Org. But I cannot compile complete web information for all
sculptors and sculpture by myself. It should be the responsibility of each
country or region or city or town to do a good job of showing the world its
sculptors, sculpture and resources for sculptors. Please tell your countrymen
and women to work together on this task. I can help by providing a central place
for information or links for all to see, but I am just one person with a dream
of a complete map of sculptors and sculpture on the web.
- An example of an effort underway in Scotland (see others through the links
above):
- Sculpture Scotland A directory of Scottish sculptors producing figurative bronze sculpture of a high quality. A non profit making site to help promote figurative Scottish sculpture. Sculpture Scotland lists sculptors working mainly in bronze producing figures that are either unique or one of a small edition. Most produce small figures but some also large. Most have a portfolio of work for sale and also take commissions. There is a wealth of available Scottish sculpture from these artists.
